Paddy Power’s wholly-owned Australian-focused online betting website Sportsbet, has successfully relaunched its Sportsbet and IASbet sites using OpenBet’s sportsbook software.
The agreement will allow Sportsbet to benefit from the flexibility and greater capacity needed to manage the ever-increasing bet volumes from the regulated Australian online betting market. According to the press release, other features include the latest versions of OpenBet’s Trading Interface and Telebet II browser-based application plus the seamless integration of LiveOdds that allows customers to enjoy live betting via the call center.
Sportsbet had been operating in Australia since 1993 and is licensed in the Northern Territory. In 2009, Paddy Power invested in Sportsbet before eventually taking full ownership. According to the press release, as part of the investment made by Paddy Power, OpenBet, which has worked with Paddy Power for a decade, was chosen to develop and migrate Sportsbet and IASbet onto the OpenBet platform.
Sportsbet will have access to all the standard platform benefits including the centralised OpenBet Account giving a single view of every customer and their betting activity across multiple channels including mobile.
Jeremy Thompson-Hill, Chief Operating Officer OpenBet Ltd, commented in the release saying: “We were very pleased to be given the task by Paddy Power to centralize and standardize Sportsbet’s sports-betting offering. Having worked with Paddy Power for ten years, we view this as a positive endorsement of the quality of our sportsbook platform.”
Cormac Barry, CEO Sportsbet, also added in the release: “Choosing OpenBet to update and migrate our Australian operations was the obvious option. With OpenBet’s unrivalled sportsbook and expertise together with that of Paddy Power, it has allowed us to supercharge the development of Sportsbet and provide a scalable platform that will continue to drive the business forward.”
